To make project one, I was able to choose any note as the tonic. Which I chose D. After, choosing my note D, I began to find the major and minor scale using the formula, WWHWWH for major and WHWWHWW for minor. Using these formula determines which note are sharp, flat, or natural. In a D major scale, there are two sharps (F and C.) In a minor scale, there is one flat (B.) After creating my scales I started to create my triads. Triads are 3 notes stack up on each other. To find the triads I put my root, than I put a major or minor third away, and finally I found the perfect fifth.

In project 2, I made a major and minor melodies using my tonic in project 1. I started with my tonic and ended with my tonic To come up with my melody, I used skills as appoggiatura, cadence, and a scale. An appoggiatura is where we start on any note, go down 2 notes, go back one, end with our first note. A cadence is where you end your song with V-I or VII-I. In measure 1 and 2 you can see how my notes is ascending and then descending. That is consider a scale. With these skills, I was able to make my melodies

What's a melody without a harmony? For project 3, I was able to create harmonies that will blend with my melodies. In order to make my harmonies, I used my triads from project one. I also used the first inversion method, where you placed your root on top of your perfect fifth note.
